Polenta is traditional and healthy food containing a lot of vitamin A, B vitamins, vitamin C and vitamin PP. Polenta helps for elimination of toxins in the body. In different regions of Bulgaria, the meal is prepared differently.

- 1 kg. of corn flour
- 200 g. butter
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 3 liters of boiling water
- 300 g. cheese / 200 g. pork, cut into pieces
In boiling water, add the salt, then pour the corn flour on a thin stream. The mixture is stirred with a wooden spoon or a short rolling pin. The flour can be fried slightly with added three tablespoons of oil. The prepared mixture is boiled on low heat, just to simmer. When boiling, on the surface of polenta should occur continuously bubbles. It is compulsory to stir continuously. When the mixture begins to thicken, use a wooden spoon to remove it from the walls of the pot. Upon reaching the required density, polenta is removed from the heat and stirred again several times.вPut a piece of butter at the bottom of the container, in which the polenta will be baked. The pot is filled up to half and on the top is put fried bacon or crumbled cheese. Bake for 4 minutes in a hot oven at 200 degrees. Serve hot. You can sprinkle with paprika.
